How did you first discover fingerboarding, and how long has it been?
So! My name is Lewis (@grim_fb), and my first memory of fingerboarding was waaaaay back in the year 2001! We went to my cousins around new year and they had one of the X-games techdeck quarter pipes, and a few 26mm decks! I was hooked! From there I dabbled in an out, while skating in my early years.
Then life happened, I was no longer a child, school, work, rugby all became my life for a while!
In 2019, me and my partner made a huge move to Brighton and when I seen the amount of people skating, I immediately went and and got a board and the week later Covid hit! So lockdown had me bummed, Scottish guy in the heat, who wanted to skate all day and was locked in!
Through insta I seen one of raymon angelo’s vids and was blown away! I ordered a crappy £5 wooden deck and when it showed up I immediately set it up and was transported back in time!
For months the house was filled with failed experiments to make my own ramps, but my determination paid off!
Here we are 7 years in!
