Barefooters
I love the fact my toes have spread, and my feet are tanned. I also love the tough but soft soles that being barefoot can create.
Barefooters
It has improved my wellbeing, I don’t have ankle issues or aches in my big toe where it broke once (in shoes) and it has helped my confidence not worrying what other think.
Barefooters
It makes me feel good. From head to toe. I get to experience the adventure that is walking barefoot, and all the good/bad that comes with it.
Barefooters
Take your time and do your research. You can’t go barefoot in a day, but the work is very well worth it.
Barefooters
I got exposed to some ideas that challenged my own bias against being barefoot. I researched it further and saw that there were benefits.
Barefooters
I think most barefooters would agree that the best reaction is no reaction.
Barefooters
I like feeling the dirt on my feet when I hike
Barefooters
I just laugh off any bad reaction and wriggle some dirty toes at them
Barefooters
It has so many benefits, don’t knock it til you try it
Barefooters
Better health, stronger libido, more confidence.
Barefooters
I think the rise in people with a foot fetish is directly related to the decline in people going barefoot. People sexualize the parts of the body that are usually covered.
Barefooters
I wish that it was seen as being as normal / acceptable as wearing flip flops etc.
Barefooters
I wish it were normal and accepted. And that people wouldn’t comment on it at all even though I enjoy it.
Barefooters
I haven’t had any pain in my knees or hips since I started, my posture is better and I pay more attention to where I’m walking.
Barefooters
I do wish people wouldn’t be so weirded out and judgemental.
Barefooters
It’s a personal choice
Barefooters
I wash my feet and keep them clean and my feet stink less than if they were in shoes.
Barefooters
It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I would encourage people to just try it out. You don’t have to commit 100% and if you don’t like it you can still stick to shoes.
Barefooters
It’s healthier, it’s better for you in the long term and also better for the people around you. Also it will save u a lot of money for shoes and socks.
Barefooters
It’s a personal choice just like wearing a hat or not; wearing long pants or shorts; wearing a hoodie or a tank-top. Some people think bare feet look unpleasant, but that could be said about a lot of things.
Barefooters
My legs and ankles look awesome. I give way fewer fucks about what people think in general. I fall sleep easier thinking about the walks I recently had.
Barefooters
It is funny that so many people respond to barefoot people with lectures about safety but it is not safety that drives me to put on shoes, it is always just to avoid confrontation from them.
Barefooters
Feeling the ground under my soles brings me back to my surroundings and centers me in the present.
Barefooters
I think barefoot tends to be associated with hippies. It’s possible that I am a bit of a hippie, but I don’t think those two things are connected for the most part.
Barefooters
Love the freedom and sensations.
Barefooters
It has benefits and is very fun and honestly therapeutic. I believe it should be more respected as a practice than it is.
Barefooters
People think it’s illegal but it isn’t.
Barefooters
It is not dangerous, I won’t step in glass and bleed all over the place.
Barefooters
It really is fun and showing your bare feet and soles will make you more confident.
Barefooters
There’s a lack of sensation as well as a lack of ‘precision’ that comes with wearing shoes, and it’s always felt unnatural to me.
Barefooters
For charity. Turned it into an experiment to document somatosensory hypersensitivity in Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
Barefooters
It also has helped with confidence, and made me overcompensate that I dress well and my hygiene is great while being barefoot
Barefooters
Ever since I was a kid, I have hated shoes. They hurt my feet.
Barefooters
Like people who don’t wear hats. You don’t need hats all the time, why would you need shoes all the time?
Barefooters
No pain in my feet and better body posture
Barefooters
The fire in my knees subsided. My hip pain went away. It was like magic. Never ever ever going back.
Barefooters
Just get rid of that ridiculous taboo or stigma or whatever we want to call it. Let people who want to be barefoot be barefoot, without any negative consequences.
Barefooters
“you’re not wearing any shoes!” – thank you captain obvious
Barefooters
Shoes are crippling foot binding that harm our feet.
Barefooters
that my feet smell. They’d smell if I wore shoes!
Barefooters
I wouldn’t be doing this if it caused me more pain than wearing shoes!
Barefooters
We’re not insane. We just don’t like shoes.
