Whatβs your climbing origin story? How and when did you get into it, and what kept you going?
My ex introduced me to climbing in the first week we started dating. I got hooked almost immediately and have been climbing regularly ever since. At the beginning, I didnβt really know why but I just felt this constant urge to go climbing all the time. I remember how exciting it felt to try new moves, figure things out, or finally send a route that challenged me.
After about 9 months, I started to notice how much stronger I had become compared to before I started. I think that sense of progress really kept me going.
After the breakup, things were pretty rough, and I found myself climbing even more. I joined new groups, met new friends, and went climbing outdoors a lot more. Somehow, all of that slowly helped me feel better.
Climbing has made me more open, more outgoing, and introduced me to so many amazing people. The more I climb, the more I realize how much this sport has changed me, not just physically, but emotionally and mentally as well.
And tbh, Iβve never experienced this level of support from a community before I started climbing. π
