What’s your climbing origin story? How and when did you get into it, and what kept you going?
My ex introduced me to climbing in the first week we started dating. I got hooked almost immediately and have been climbing regularly ever since. At the beginning, I didn’t really know why but I just felt this constant urge to go climbing all the time. I remember how exciting it felt to try new moves, figure things out, or finally send a route that challenged me.
After about 9 months, I started to notice how much stronger I had become compared to before I started. I think that sense of progress really kept me going.
After the breakup, things were pretty rough, and I found myself climbing even more. I joined new groups, met new friends, and went climbing outdoors a lot more. Somehow, all of that slowly helped me feel better.
Climbing has made me more open, more outgoing, and introduced me to so many amazing people. The more I climb, the more I realize how much this sport has changed me, not just physically, but emotionally and mentally as well.
And tbh, I’ve never experienced this level of support from a community before I started climbing. 🙌
